MIGUEL ANGEL PEREZ DIEPA

 

 

Lawyer, Compliance Officer, Member 1082 of the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Las Palmas, graduated in Law from the University of La Laguna, practicing lawyer since 1990, extensive experience with proceedings in courts and tribunals throughout Spain, Provincial Courts, National Court, Supreme Court and Constitutional Court and collaborations in proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights.

 

He is a speaker at training sessions organized by the Las Palmas Bar Association under the title "The first appearance of the Detainee before the Investigating Court", in 2012.

 

Participant as a member of the group of expert criminal lawyers from Spain, in the study sponsored by the European Union, and developed by Fair Trials International, on Detention and provisional imprisonment in Europe, a meeting held in Madrid in 2012 in the Clifford Chance Law Firm.

 

Speaker at the IV Conference on Money Laundering held in Las Palmas with the presentation "The lawyer and Money Laundering", in 2013.

 

Speaker at the Expert Course on Gender Violence taught in 2013-2014 at the University of Las Palmas with the presentation “The lawyer and assistance to the victim of gender violence.

 

Speaker at the conference on gender violence organized by the Canary Islands Command on January 5, 2015, with the presentation "Legal assistance to detainees for gender violence"

 

Participant in the meeting held at the Ministry of Justice on June 16, 2015 by the Working Group on the rights of suspected or accused persons who are in provisional prison and the use of alternative measures to prison.

 

Speaker in the Expert course on Human Rights and Gender taught at the University of Las Palmas in the 2015-2016 academic year, with the presentation "The right to legal assistance".

 

Ongoing professor on Money Laundering and Tax Crime organized by FEMEPA in 2016.

 

He is currently participating in a study that is currently being carried out by the Spanish Association for Human Rights on “Provisional detention in practice, study of alternative measures and process of judicial decision-making.
